Review of Ek Villain (2014) by Qamar Zia S — 28 Jun 2014
A true disappointment. Its all due to those exaggerated promos. From the month of early april or may when its trailer came out it seemed like something fresh and new is going to arrive with this film. An early decision of first day first show was done already in mind and then this moment came, when we came out of the hall and it felt like "eeeeggrrh!!! wat was happening inside". The movie is like an indian remake of some brainless action korean movie with all those serial killer shits. Underrated acting by main cast, pathetic story line and meaningless emotions. But you can keep riteish deshmukh aside just because you get to see him in a new skin than his those previous comic characters. While watching the film two great questions arises in your mind and the first one is "What is kamaal r khan doing here? Did he got this film due to all those recent media attention?'. By the way,he delivered his best here and gets you believed he is really an ass**** and does not deserves the attention the media gives him. The second question is 'What is singer remo fernandes doing here?'. Ya, it arises because he cant deliver a single dialogue in hindi the way his character really should. It really makes you think, was mohit suri in a state of crisis for an actor in bollywood town for not giving a all total 5 minutes role of local don to someone better than him. Shraddha and sidharth don't deliver their best here. They have lot more talent to show (by watching their previous works).
All around, except songs (which are really fresh and heart touching) I give this movie 1/5 for disheartening me.(Believe me, It really did!!!).
