Review of Eighth Grade (2018) by Mdovalle1 — 06 Aug 2018
This move portrayed the emotional state of a particular type of teenager who was self-conscious and full of social anxiety potentially related to being left by her mother. She had a desperate need to be accepted and it clearly showed the influence and worthless role of technology which was not helpful to her in anyway.
It provided it with an excuse not to confront people head on and spend time outdoors. Aside from a few subtly funny moments, it was not laugh out loud comedy. I do believe that this was a misclassification and disappointing to me who was expecting real laughter.
