"1919. The year America saw Major League Baseball played in a whole new way... Underhanded.".

"The way I see it, we can never be beaten...We can only beat ourselves..".

Eight Men Out. A spectacle of a sports film, a dramatic and spot~on true story that is quite shocking. Match fixing is cowardly in my opinion, every athlete is trained to win, it's what makes sports so hypnotizing to watch, a fix in any sport is just like treason. Celebrated Director John Sayles (Lone Star, The Secret Of Roan Inish, Passion Play) takes a step out of comfort zone with this absolutely riveting true story of top notch greed, Sayles and company really crafted a solidified drama that engaged from the opening sequence. The early 1920's cinematography and costume art are a treat for the eyes and the screenplay is fantastic. Eight Men Out is snappy, stylish, cerebral and hypnotizing sports drama that really keeps you watching and guessing for The complete duration. Complete with a superb ensemble of characters, striking performances, a mesmerizing story and much more. The factual account about the cowardly, infamous and downright despicable 1919 Chicago White Six and the scandal that shook the entire sports culture as well as the country and changed Baseball forever, this has surely got to be one of the deepest darkest saddest chapters in the history of professional sports. It defeated the entire purpose that makes the world of professional sports so insanely amusing and profusely entertaining to watch. UNPREDICTABILITY... One of the best attributes and characteristics that professional sports offers. Match fixing is devilish and treasonous, but is also very profitable, dangerous and downright devilish.

Director Sayles and company brought together a multitude of late 80's A list talents, all of whom deliver excellent performances and are at the top of the game. Featuring riveting performances from John Cisco, Clifton James, Michael Lerner, Christopher Lloyd, Charlie Sheen, David Straithorn and D.B. Sweeney.
