Review of Eight Legged Freaks (2002) by Jason J — 04 Aug 2010
This isn't a very good b-movie parody about giant spiders at all. When you've got a crap actor such as David Arquette taking top billing in a movie you know you're in big trouble. The CG for the spiders are absolutely shite though the animatronics for some of the bigger spiders were decent enough.
As for the comedy, it could well be funny if you're a kid or drunk otherwise there are few laughs to be had here. The filmmakers thought it would be hilarious for the spiders to have high pitched voices such as the ones the Gremlins had.
Seriously the humour, acting, action and drama were poorly done. What a waste of 100 mins. If you want to watch a good comedy about spiders watch Arachnophobia with John Goodman instead.
