I reckon that this movie was counter programming to Spider-Man back in 2002. Its a funny horror movie, when spiders get radioactive waste on them, they grow large and attack the town. Features a young Scarlett Johansson (post Ghost World, pre Lost in Translation), and Scott Terra (the young Matt Murdock in Daredevil).
