Review of Eight Legged Freaks (2002) by Paul P — 28 May 2010

I'm not really sure how to measure this movie, it's clearly inspired by flicks like Gremlins etc. and that affection is really clear, but at the the same time, it's a bit of a mess.

The cast are given pretty much nothing to work with and they come accros as mostly forgetable as a result. It does have however, the most annoying brainiac kid (I can't even remember his name) who just bugged the crap oput of me whenever he was on screen. The effects workis pretty lousy and the whole concept of these spiders giggling and joking around (ala Gremlins) just didn't work because they had no character at all.

Having said that, it's heart is in the right place and it is a fun watch most of the time.
