Review of Eight Legged Freaks (2002) by Eric E — 12 Nov 2012
Eight Legged Freaks has a special place in my heart for one simple reason.
This is not a film that by any means, tries to take itself seriously. Whether.
It be by the acting, the plot, or even the monsters of the film. It's just a.
Bunch of silly over the top classic spider horror made for fun.
For the most part, the story is incredibly simple and like always in films.
Like this type, predictable. Accident of toxic waste exposes some animals.
(in this case, spiders) and changes them into large man-eating monsters.
More or less, the same old same old we've grown accustomed to in these.
Types of animal horror films.
Still, I must admit that the spiders in the film are mildly entertaining. I'm.
Pretty sure those of you who have seen it, no doubt have heard at times,.
The spiders actually saying sounds and words like "ow!" when they get hit.
And every so often, one of them will do something very "Gremlins-esque".
One could argue then that this film is a relaunching of the Gremlins.
Franchise, only with spiders instead. To further add, the spiders.
Overruning the town has a zombie-like premise that's easy to follow.
So pretty much the film is Gremlin spiders. Not as funny as Gremlins, but it.
Does have better action. It's certainly not a great horror film, but it's got.
Some mildly stupid fun that'll entertain you.
And if that's not enough to convince you it's a slightly okay movie to see,.
C'mon, it's got David Arquette! People like David Arquette....right?
