Review of Eight Below (2006) by Luis E — 26 Jan 2009
This was a great Disney movie... for kids -- it shows compassion and caring for animals and a bit about the real dangers of working in such extreme climates. As well, there's no swearing and it's not a violent movie, but for adults, it's not fantastic, but it's okay.
As an adult, I soon realized that dogs don't REALLY act that way when left to fend for themselves for months on end, and that breath really does appear as condensation in sub-zero temperatures.I watched the movie because I love animals, but it wasn't very realistic, and on top of that, the story barely followed the original story! It's worth watching as a dog-lover.
