Review of Eegah (1962) by Peter H — 28 Apr 2012
Re-Review in the works.
Orginal review:Eegah or Eegah The Name Written In Blood is one of those films that is cited as one of the worst movies ever made. In some way thats true just like PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE is called that as well, Like PLAN 9 its a cinematic enjoyment package. Come on a film about a a caveman called Eegah falling in love and caputring a teenager called Roxy is so silly but so funny to sit through. Roxy's boy friend played by the directors son Arhice Hall JR was only put in this movie to launch his music carrer, with his campy numbers like "VICKY" , "VALERE" and "ROCKING OLD HOUSE" songs are so tacky to hear they will make anyone cry EEGAH.
The most notable thing about this film aside from the fact its halied as one of the worst movies, is its strange bit of dialouge... "WACTH OUT FOR SNAKES" someone radomly shouts out in the middle of one secne has made this film become a cult classic. Heck jaws from a few James Bond movies (richard keil) is actally the one playing Eegah, with that bit of knowlage its no wonder why this film has a cult audiance. Really is this the worst movie ever? Nope sorry id give that tilte to MANOS: THE HANDS OF FATE or more even better to MONSTER A GO GO , id call EEGAH one of the BEST WORST MOVIES along with PLAN 9 due to it being such a funny view. 4/10.
