Review of Eega (2012) by Robert H — 26 Oct 2013
If you can get passed the less than stellar CG in this film Eega is sure to delight! The story about a man who is killed and is reincarnated as a fly only to seek revenge on the one who killed him is absolutely brilliant! Taking a journey through one genre after another the film starts off as a musical romance film, the standard of Bollywood/Tollywood. Then there is a moment of gangster film which is quickly turned into an adventure film once the fly emerges. Next we are witness to the action/revenge/comedy for the later half of the film. Tons of fun and truly original (especially for north american audiences), Eega is one film worth tracking down.
Fans of Tollywood films will find many of the standard tropes in this film but that should not change the fact that the film is pure entertainment through and through. Zany, over the top, action packed and full of heart, Eega is a huge recommend in my books.
