Review of Edward Scissorhands (1990) by Alberto A — 08 Jul 2012
We have to take our flaws and make them our talent. The word "flaw" is not necessarily a synonym of "weakness". It's sad that those who are different and rejected by the so-called "normal people" are better off isolated, the world is not good for them.
This film is criticizing the society in which we live in nowadays, who they are so afraid of the unknown, the different ones, and of course, the outsiders. We push the outsiders away so that they don't ruin our "little happy perfect lives".
The scenery of this tale it's obviously in the suburbs, I have no doubt that this was the perfect setting. Everybody is still so close-minded that if someone is not from our acquaintances or surroundings, he/she is not welcome.
Great film, so Burton-esque, love it.
