Review of Edward Scissorhands (1990) by Matt M — 04 Feb 2013
A suburban famlily takes in a young man who was the subject of experimentation that ended up with replacing his hands with scissors. A modern faily tale with gothic horror elements by stylish director Tim Burton, who brings his usual bag of tricks in the mix, including his very own on screen alter ego Johnny Depp, who is quite memorable as the strange titular character.
While the plot is not as original as its subject and sometimes becomes as awkward as its subject's struggles to fit in, the sweet message of the movie is heart warming and the art direction influential.
