Certainly odd & interesting, but not Burton's best - it's just a Frankenstein rip-off but Johnny Depp has less life than even Frankenstein's monster! He has about 10 lines the whole movie and is hard to care for - Frankenweenie was far better for the same concept.
Winona Ryder's annoying and the film's strongest points are the set design and the score.
