Another Tim Burton Classic and EASILY one of his best. I personally would put this as one of my all time favorites of his..mind you me saying this is bad cause I LOVE all of Tim Burton's films. I would also like to add that next to Batman Returns this film has some of Danny Elfman's BEST music in it.

The story is of one that..I think a lot of people can relate to of a outsider coming into a different world and trying to fit in. Edward is the "Son" of an inventor,Vincinet Price who was ultimately in his last role RIP sir, who created Edward and intended to have him as a son and very polite human being. But before he could finish him he dies leaving Edward "Unfinished" and having to finish himself. Not really knowing what to do Edward crafts hands out of Scissors.

Years latter after living in isolation a young woman decides to go to Edwards mansion and see if anyone lives there. Finding Edward she is at first frightened by him but latter is intreged and decides to take him home with her to show him to her family,A husband, son and her Daughter Kim(Played by Wynona Ryder) Upon seeing her Edward immediately becomes infatuated with her.

While living with the family Edward shows he has very good talents even with the problem of his hands. It starts with him making sculptures out of the family and other neighbors hedges which is then moved up to cutting the neighbors dogs hair into interesting pieces. Upon seeing this the neighbors immediately ask him if he would then cut their own hair.

Unfortunately not all is well for Edward in this area. During his time there he makes enemies with Kim's Boyfriend who first try's to use Edward so that they can break into his house and steal money from his fathers house so that he may buy a van Resulting in Edward being caught by the police and the neighbors doubting Edward as a "Model Citizen".

During this time also Edward again shows his talents by taking the giant blocks of Ice that have formed out side of the family's houses and crafting them into beautiful works of art. While doing this he is able to give the illusion of snow falling which Kim decides to dance under,A scene that will always be one of my all time favorites in the film, Which also infuriates Kim's boyfriend Jim who decides to take the opportunity to distract Edward enough so that he accidentally cuts Kim's hand, Which Jim uses as a way to make the neighbors hate Edward and start to turn against him, This is then Multiplied when Edward leaves the house in anger and while running sees that Jim and his drunk friends will hit Kevin unintentionally. Edward then saves him but in the process accidentally cuts him.

Now hated and hunted by the community Edward flees to his hill top mansion,While followed by the cities police and community, Once up there a Sympathetic cop who had gotten to befriend Edward decided to fire his gun up in the Air giving the illusion that he killed him. Telling the towns folk that he had killed Edward the community decided to leave and go back to their homes.

Kim though doesn't believe he is dead and flees to the mansion to see Edward one last time. While going there Jim follows. Upon seeing Edward is still alive he attacks Edward in anger. Eventually Edward attacks after he sees that Jim has hurt Kate. Stabbing Jim in the stomach and killing him by having him fall out of a window. To prove to the townsfolk Kim brings out Edwards Hand and shows it to them. After this event we see that the Narrator of the whole story has been an elder version of Kim all along and was telling the story to her granddaughter as a bed time story. She tells her Granddaughter that the reason that they have snow is because of Edward and that she also never went back to see Edward after that one night. When asked why she tells her Granddaughter "I wanted him to remember me the way I was when he first met me".

This film REALLY REALLY tugged at my heart strings. It was so heart warming to see how Edward and Kim had such a loving and caring relation ship and the way Danny Elfmans music was used I'd say it was one of the best "Love stories" ever. As I said earlier one of the scenes that always stuck in my head was the Scene where Kim dances in the snow made by Edward. Elfmans music just brought tears to my eyes cause it was so heart warming and entertaining to hear. This is one of the few films that can do that to me. It is also one of the VERY few films I can watch and find...NOTHING that I didn't like about it. For me this is a perfect film..even if I nitpicked it's hard for me to find something. As I said this is a classic film and EASILY one of Burtons best films. I can sit and watch this film for hours on end and never be bored by it and always find it enjoyable.
