Tim Burton and Johnny Depp's first ever collaboration is unendingly funny, beautifully scored, powerfully acted (particularly from Depp, Ryder, and West) and magically sweet and heart-rending yet, amazingly, Gothic and dark all at the same time.
A triumph.
