Review of Educating Rita (1983) by Angela H — 22 Sep 2007
Brilliant! Deals not only with issue of one working class woman's desire to seek other opportunities in life, but also the trap of pretension that eager students can encounter. Played out like a Shakespearian tragedy, the charm of both characters is almost destroyed by the changes that occur through the dynamic of their relationship, but both win through in the end.
Whilst some people have an abundance of opportunity, for others it can be long, hard road choosing something different. All done with such humour too!
