Review of EDtv (1999) by Greg W — 19 Jan 2014
I always liked this one, it's not great but is amusing and I like the concept. It caught a lot of flak when it came out for being similar to "The Truman Show", but this one is different as it focuses more on the "celebrity" of reality and the consequences therein.
McConaughey does a decent job of a guy who suddenly finds himself a celeb(probably something he can relate to) and there's a decent supporting cast, with Landau and Degeneres being the standouts. It was also fun seeing Woody Harrelson and McConaughey working together 15yrs prior to "True Detective.
This one's a good Sunday afternoon movie.
