Review of Edmond (2006) by Kevin D — 23 Aug 2007
Gordon and Mamet don't mix too well on the screen; no one seems to be bringing focus to the material; all those involved seem perfectly happy to indulge each other as they each happily do their own thing.
So Mamet's script takes its sweet, chatty time going nowhere, Macy loads his eponymous character with quirk after quirk, and Gordon brings his signature gruesomeness to the fore more often than is called for.
