Review of Edge of Tomorrow (2014) by Rabih H — 09 Feb 2015
What a fun and inventive ride of a film. I appreciated the efficiency of the script. It manages to move along at a very brisk pace without any glaring plot holes. The film develops its own form of shorthand to move us from scene to scene as the characters primary goals change.
It's nice to be respected as a viewer in terms of remembering key events and callbacks. We know when Cruise has already been somewhere before the film tells us, but the script expects that we know, and then defies those expectations.
I love it.
