Review of Edge of Tomorrow (2014) by Kurt F — 27 Feb 2015

2/26/15 This is a newer take on the action genre. I like how Tom Cruise is a complete douche in the beginning. This fits him well. The fact that it is the same day over and over seems like it would feel very repetitive.

But the way it is filmed, it actually makes it MORE interesting to watched because it makes nice choices on making certain scenes VERY fast. This keeps the pacing up. The end of the film (last 20 minutes) was very dark visually, so I had a really hard time picking up what was actually happening.

I thought they could have done a better job with this. After all, the visuals were a big part in this movie, and they ruined it a bit at the end because you couldn't see any of it! Anyway, it is a strong action film with a newer concept.
