It's so rare for sci-fi movies to be truly good that it's such a wonderful surprise when one is. I don't know what makes or breaks most of them - bad plot, poor casting, terrible dialog, weak premise, reliance on SX, etc? But this film nailed it.
Engaging on every level, and still having great action and effects! What a pleasure.
