Better than I fought.
Groundhog Day meets Starship Troopers.
Saying this, its not great by any means but its ok summer blockbuster stupid fun SF flick.
The plot itself is ridiculous, so no need for nitpicking plot holes, it was neverBetter than I fought.

The plot itself is ridiculous, so no need for nitpicking plot holes, it was never intended to be a serious deep SF.
The passing is ok, it is really good directed film for what it is.
Where it goes real flat is the ending-either go for Hollywood full scale showdown or gritty dark sad end not both.
Tom Cruise is Tom Cruise not a bad actor but not great either. This kind of roles are suited for him he's not good enough for high drama. And I don't agree that he's too old, he looks good for his age and can still be the one to get the girl at the end (even if she is young enough to be he's daughter).
Best part of film is Emily Blunt, she really nailed it. Looking forward seeing her in more action roles. Great actress.
