Review of Edge of Doom (1950) by Jiawei H — 22 Aug 2015
The most downbeat, unrelentingly grim movie ever made. That it dared to criticize organized religion in1950 makes it a remarkable film. It contains the best scene from any film of this genre in which Martin's down and out neighbor explains to him that although it's a rich world no one is giving you anything, that you must be prepared to take it from them.
The speech gives the viewer the thoughts of a man gripped by despair...riveting and thought provoking.
