Review of Edge of Darkness (1943) by Kj P — 22 Aug 2010
Well, I can't say I'm not disappointed, Edge of Darkness looks amazing on paper. But like most films that look good on paper, it failed in delivery. Mel Gibson of course throws himself over the edge (of darkness!), and Martin Campbell offers some strong directing, but the script isn't nearly as strong as it could have been; it almost felt rushed.
Edge of Darkness offers over the top brutality, and an interesting political perspective, but again, it falls flat.
