Review of Eden Log (2007) by Stephen S — 11 Apr 2009

This is definitely a unique movie to say the least. It was classified as horror but it is almost entirely science fiction. I knew this was a French movie so I was surprised to see it in English. There wasn't anything dubbed so I kept on waiting for some new character to start speaking a ton of French.

I later found out that they shot the movie using alternate takes for a French and English version. This also can explain the acting a bit since it is probably harder to sound quite right when you are speaking a foreign language.

The movie itself wasn't great but it wasn't terrible either. The movie gives a really claustrophobic feeling which I haven't seen since Cube. I thought the ending got kind of ridiculous and was really hoping for something better since the whole movie seemed to be leading up to that.
