Review of Eden Lake (2008) by Doctor S — 04 Jan 2011

Low budget horror with a vacationing couple running afoul of some teenage hooligans. Too many unlikely coincidences to count and takes a repellent dip into 'torture porn' territory. I was in the mood to be scared, not repulsed.

Wants to earn the same thrill quotient as High Tension, but couldn't similarly sustain my interest with a nonexistent plot over 90 minutes. The acting is pretty good though, with the juvenile thugs memorably frightening.

Might appeal more to someone else's horror palate.
