Review of Eden Lake (2008) by Derek D — 26 Oct 2009
If seeing foul-mouthed yobs taking over the streets of Britain pisses you off then this movie will really make you go angry. A young couple go camping to an idyllic spot in the countryside beside a lake before the developers turn it into a housing estate but their trip turns into a disaster when a pack of chavs gate-crash their location.
Their content to put up with their obnoxious behaviour until the man goes over to challenge them in the evening and during a scuffle accidentally stabs one of the ladâ??s Rottweiler to death so in retaliation they steal the coupleâ??s Range Rover the next morning.
From then onwards the couple are plunged into a nightmare containing torture and a battle for their very survival. The main chav character is a nasty piece of work and one I would not like to bump into.
Eden Lake is a gripping and tense survival movie with itâ??s fair share of gore. Just when you thought things couldnâ??t get any worse for the couple it doesâ?¦â?¦.
