Review of Eden Lake (2008) by Matthew S — 09 Aug 2010
Another surprisingly good British horror film. Cold and bleak is the despair that our two protagonists suffer and this translates well from the screen to the viewer. Kelly Reily's emotions are completely out acted by the rest of the cast and when she does react appropriately to her circumstances, it seems exagerated as a result.
The film doesn't end as any Hollywood director would have had it and that is completely to the credit of James Watkins. Well worth watching... if of course you have the stomache for it :-).
