Review of Eden Lake (2008) by Brian C — 14 Oct 2011
One word describes this movie. POWERFUL. This movie is no-holds barred, brutal, visceral and left me feeling sick inside.
Very rarely do I watch a movie and get so emotionally vested in the characters...I was really hoping for the young couple, and I really wanted the kids to die. Their attitude towardds life, and their non-chalanted approach to torture, and brutality.
One scene really stuck out and that was the mother in the diner 'they aren't my children'. The parents are so typical that can't believe their precious snowflake could do anything horrible.
And the ending...sickening to say the least. This unhappy ending left me angry. Angry that the parents were just as bad as the kids...even worse in that they do the very same thing to protect their children.
Highly recommend this movie...but be warned, it is not an easy watch.
