This is not a movie you "enjoy" but you pass it on to diffuse the horror of having your day ruined. Eden Lake brings nothing remarkably new to the screen but it accomplishes what others ("The Strangers," "I Spit On Your Grave") have tried by boiling down a terrifying premise to its meanest, most visceral form.
Nasty and relentlessly upsetting, Eden Lake feels like a personal assault.
