Review of Eden Lake (2008) by Eytan D — 05 May 2013
"Wolf Creek" meets "A Clockwork Orange," and boy, is it scary. "Eden Lake" has several obvious cliches. How many times do we have to see a couple go out into the woods for some fun and get terrorized? However, when the assailants are ruthless British ruffians who seem to take intimidating delight in their harassment and torture, the movie becomes a little too real, and that's why James Watkins's film works.
Plus, the film's ending is just as shocking and thought-provoking as the movie overall.
