Review of Eddie the Eagle (2016) by Dave R — 29 Feb 2016
Now Eddie the Eagle isn't some tour de force of film making by any stretch of the imagination, but it does a very good job of telling the story of a man on a mission. I remember watching the Olympics the year Eddie Edwards competed and remember how it wasn't about how he did, but that he was competing.
I'll say this, Hugh Jackman could've slept walked his way through his role here, but sure didn't. He brings a level of authenticity that this film needed, even though his character isn't a real part of the actual story.
I loved the final jump sequence, as it just really wraps the story up nicely. Not the world's greatest movie, but a fun time at the movies.
