Review of Eddie the Eagle (2016) by Riri H — 29 Apr 2016
If you want top see a film which will make you smile all the way through, this is it. A truly inspirational story of an oddball who overcomes childhood.
Polio and social awkwardness to achieve his dream of representing the UK in the ski jump at the Olympics. The film covers all angles: the snobbism and elitism of some of the other athletes, the almost incestuous bonhomie among the professional ski elite, the power of sheer guts and determination from both Eddie and his coach, (brilliantly and sensitively portrayed by Hugh Jackman). It demonstrates how tenacity and family support can overcome almost insurmountable obstacles: funny and heartwarming.
