Review of Eddie the Eagle (2016) by Jens S — 17 Mar 2018
Who'd have thought that a film about ski-jumping could ever be such a cracker, but everything comes together here - the directing, Egerton's endearing performance as the titular character, the perfectly chosen soundtrack - to create a real feel-good flick if there ever was one.
Yes, the story is full of clichés and isn't subtle about how it goes about charming its audience, but you can't help but be pulled along by the character's enthusiasm and sweet nature, getting behind him and rooting for his success.
Eddie mate, you're an absolute legend and Great Britain is proud of you.
