Review of Eddie the Eagle (2016) by Avant S — 15 May 2016
Another of the feel good films that seems to attract Hugh Jackman in between musicals and Xmen films, Eddie the Eagle does have its moments as it jockeys between a feel good albeit ackward version of Cool Runnings on the slopes while inserting some wanting to be comic book inspired jumps as Eddie grows from the baby slopes to the hills of Calgary at the 1988 Olympic Games which was his dream to participate in in whatever capacity he could show strength in.
Because it toggles between family friendliness and technical penash, Eddie the Eagle doesn't truly find its feet outside of the Sunday night viewing, it has enough charm to entertain you for the general viewing and provide a few chuckles to engage you will you are in the audience.
Charming for what it is.
