Review of Eddie Murphy: Delirious (1983) by Jon P — 10 Jan 2008

I might be harder on this as it's difficult to take the date into effect. It's got moments but isn't start to finish funny. Then again it's lasted and is considered one of the best and ground breaking specials of all time. Filmed in 1983 can you really expect the humour to be current and funny 25 years later?

Without question the part of the special that makes me cry to this day is when Eddie mentions how hot he is on stage, some woman yells to "take it off" and without missing a beat another audience member screams "shut the fuck up bitch!" to which Eddie drops the mic and has to walk away because of his laughter! Couldn't have had better timing (which makes me think it might have been a plant, but even still).
