Whatever your current views on Eddie Murphy. Empty them all - start afresh and remind yourself this is a 23 year old black man in 1983 in a theatre that discriminated against colour a few decades ago...
This is 'genuinely' funny. Funny from the soul funny, irreverent funny, funny in a wholly PC (forget it...) way - and most importantly of all... funny like you would tell it to your mates (apart from it not being as funny when we recount the stories Eddie recalls).
This is a rare opportunity to see some genuine classic stand up, near/on knuckle, non-PC, unaffected comedy by a 23 year old on a HUGE stage.
Enjoy - and don't watch the sequel 'RAW' ever...it's just plain vulgar ;).
