Review of Eddie and the Cruisers (1983) by Ken D — 31 May 2009
This is a bad movie, make no mistake. The script is silly, the acting is weak, and the cinematography is worthy of basic cable. But it's a bad movie that I like, I must confess. A goofy rock and roll fable that tried to cash in on the Jim Morrison Lives rumors that swirled around in the early eighties.
(Remember those?) Instead it cashed in on a soundtrack that sounded like Springsteen on an off day (not a real insult, as we'd all be so lucky as to sound like Springsteen on an off day).
