This is great entertainment; but I struggle to find much else in it. Burton clearly loves Ed Wood. Which is fine. And the lovingly recreated scenes from his various movies are joyous to behold. But the movie never really gets to grips with the fact that Wood's films are truly horrendous (and were an intense disappointment to Wood himself).
Funnily enough the only scene which really rings true is the Orson Welles encounter; and that's the one which is most obviously a fabrication.
