Review of Ed Wood (1994) by Hashim Ali C — 03 Apr 2011
It is a celebration of the live of possibly worst film director in history; the highlights of his optimistic perspective on every downhill he goes, and somehow, the film succeeds in delivering its own judgment based on the titular character, like Welles said: "visions are worth fighting for.
" At one point, I am delighted by the cheerful personality of Wood, and his 'innocent' optimism that might captured Lugosi's heart. On the other hand, the film is like a satire of never-ending all-doomed production in a world that seems always have a hunger for ambitions and of course, desire for fame.
What drives Wood to overcome all the spicy, harsh words of his critics? What keeps him up the downhill? Why does the company have faith in him? Ed Wood, by all means, has got answers for these.
