Review of Ed Wood (1994) by Kyle T — 22 Apr 2012
A movie that means a lot to me, since I would love to make a film some day. The movieâ(TM)s tale of the infamously horrible director, Ed Wood, is one of inspiration, friendship, and creative visionaries.
Everybody has a story to tell, and despite what people tell you, it is your vision, and to Hell to those who try to limit your creativity. It really means a lot to any creative mind, and hits every note perfectly.
Tim Burtonâ(TM)s direction is splendid, and of course, the art direction is fantastic. The writing was, as to be expected, wonderful. The performances were all-around fantastic, though, of course, Martin Landau was perfect as Bela Lugosi, and Johnny Deppâ(TM)s depiction of Edward D.
Wood Jr. is really, REALLY moving, funny, and good. The movie does a lot to hit so many notes of drama, comedy, romance, inspiration, it all works perfectly. If you ever want to get into some form of creative medium, especially film, I cannot think of a better movie for you to watch than this one.
