Review of Ed Wood (1994) by Matthew K — 07 Dec 2012
A great film about one of the worst directors in movie history... this film manages to be hilarious and mocking, but also like a touching tribute to the man himself, The movies are terrible, but the character himself just gives off such a positive glow towards his own terrible creations that you he can only be rooted for.
The friendship with Lugosi is a highlight, as they seemed to not give up on each others chances of further success, not to mention that Martin Landau gives a terrific performance in portraying the late actor.
A true story that doesn't just entertain, but manages to put in that bit or support for those willing to never give up on their dreams, no matter how many knocked-down set pieces and string-tied UFO's they may require.
