Review of Ed Wood (1994) by Eytan D — 03 Jan 2013
Ed Wood is one of Tim Burton's best movies. It's strange, funny, dramatic, and utterly memorable. Shooting the film in black and white lends a wonderful, old-fashioned feel to it. I have never seen any of Ed Wood's reputely bad movies, but Burton captures the common perspective of the notorious director accurately, and his vision is helped immensely by Johnny Depp's wonderfully wacky performance.
But Martin Landau's strikingly uncanny, Oscar-winning turn as Bela Lugosi nearly steals the show.
