A film about the worst director in Hollywood history....well at least up until 1960 when he stopped doing movies, there are many worthy directors now who would fit that title.
Ed Wood is about the cross-dressing director who made some very bad movies during the 50's, most notably "Plan 9 from Outer Space". Wood is played by Depp, who gives Wood the creepy enthusiasm he purportedly had. The highlight of the movie is Martin Landau as Bela Lugosi, who befriended Wood and "starred" in Plan 9.
The film captures the period well, the weirdness of Wood, and how goofy Hollywood is and was.
