Review of Eating Out: All You Can Eat (2009) by Greg H — 08 Dec 2009
In the same vein as its two predecessors, Eating Out 3 will most certainly be classed a guilty pleasure. In my opinion this is the best of the three. I'm usually quite a liberal film critic but the first one really was terrible. Surprisingly the second is much better and funnier, but this one was my favourite. Ok so there's no art involved here, just a silly storyline, tasteless humor and hot guys galore. Still the film does manage to create a likeabilty for the characters which was lacking in previous efforts.
Rebekah Kochan shines as the slutty but hilarious fag-hag. Chris Salvatore is inescapably gorgeous and provides a more genuine hottie as he really is gay. In fact I heard that the whole male cast are gay in real life. An aspect that makes the whole film more believable and less hypocritical.
There were some real laugh-out-loud moments, as well as several bad-taste jokes that will probably only appeal if you (like me) have that kind of humor. Of course it's destined to be marred, bashed and torn to shreds by stuffy critics. Reviewers can be truly evil sometimes, Daniel Skelton was called "a toothy irritant who should never be allowed in front of a camera again" by the NY Times. Who's a bitch now then?!
If you like it then watch it. I found it funny, and everyone has a guilty pleasure right? My question is why be guilty about it.
