Review of Eat Pray Love (2010) by Kerry M — 09 Jan 2012
A recently divorced woman, still uncertain about her decision to break up, travels consequently to Italy, India and Indonesia, firstly, to learn to appreciate such pleasures in life as eating or staying idle, secondly, to learn to give her thoughts a break by losing control of her life's events or keeping her head clear of thoughts, and, lastly, to learn to offer and accept help, to trust others and to love.
In spite of 2,5-hour length of the movie, the philosophical messages are not carried through clearly enough. The film may be better appreciated if perceived as a Discovery Chanel trip to various countries with excellent photography, complicated by the immanent moaning of the protagonist.
