Review of Easy A (2010) by Sowhatchathink — 08 Jan 2013
I didn't particularly want to watch this film when my friend first mentioned it, definitely wasn't top of my must-see list. However, after being hounded by her for quite some time, I decided to cave in and watch it. Tell you what...i'm really glad I did, it was one of the best films I saw that year and now one of my favourite films, full stop. I must admit I am a sucker for a Romantic Comedy film, can't help but love them; but of course the majority of them are as cheesy as they come. With Easy A, it wasn't cheesy, it was sarcastic, witty and funny and in nowadays films, that can be extremely hard to come by. Truly don't think the casting director could of picked a better fit for Olive Penderghast. Emma Stone was perfect for this role, i'd seen her do small parts in other films like The House Bunny and Superbad, but she never got enough screen time, not that she truly deserves anyway. Bert V. Royal's writing and Emma Stone, equals comedic genius.
If you have not seen this film yet, I think you can gather that I think you should. No, I know you should. Do yourself a favour.
