Review of Easy A (2010) by David F — 02 Jul 2012
This is a clever twist on a classic tale. It's a typical high school comedy along the lines of 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU or SHE'S ALL THAT, but it is a cut above both of them. Much of this has to do with Emma Stone's fantastic central performance in the film.
It perhaps isn't the iconic equal of MEAN GIRLS, but it is a close second and the satire of high school social structures is just as sharp. A fantastic throwback to the teen comedies of the 1980s.
