A charming Emma Stone is a consistent joy in this well-written teen comedy that's filled with a string of fine actors in quirky roles (particularly Stanley Tucci and Patricia Clarkson as her parents, and Christian Haden Church as her favourite teacher), but 'Easy A' just doesn't make the grade.
It's difficult to pinpoint the reason (a scene-stealing Amanda Bynes adds to the fun and Dan Byrd is also a treat), but the film doesn't leave one with the sense of satisfaction and reward that it should.
