In essence, this movie is just a modern representation of the book 'Scarlet Letter', and it is very well aware of it. This comedy is fun, witty, and full of references slash throwbacks to the 1980s romance movies, with its ending highly dependent on the viewers knowledge of such movies endings.
The real charm of the movie is in the charming lead, Olive Penderghast, as depicted by Emma Stone. Her sheer charisma and likability pulls this movie, with its decent supporting cast emphasizing that fact.
